Hi

I am facing difficulty in front end submission of the jbzoo image. I use the field of rel to write down a link to the image.

When some another person edits the item then the link is removed and hence the jbimage is also removed when saved. Can you check?

I'm not sure I understood you correctly. Did you modify JBZoo Image element to use rel instead of the usual method? How can I test this on your website?

I haven't modified the jbzoo image. In frontend the jbzoo image doesn't allow image upload to any folder but allows to upload in user folder. I know this has been done for security reasons. But i dont allow public upload from frontend so i can allow users to upload in custom folder. For that i started writing the URL in the rel so that images can be linked. But when the item is edited then the image un-links itself and again needs to be linked. To test i am messaging you the details

The problem of posting image from frontend still seems to be there. Can we modify the front end submission of the jbzoo image to just a simple field where you can enter the relative url of the image? That will be very useful for me.

Hello, sorry for a long reply.

 

It's possible to add such field, of course. But I think it's not the perfect solution because users will be able to use links to external images from other websites. 

 

So let's try one more thing first. As I understand, you have a folder within your website where uploads are allowed, right? So you just need to set this folder as a destination folder for JBImage uploads. And disable "Upload by users" option which creates subfolders for each user. In the result all images that are located there will be listed in the select field during item submission.

The issue is that the images are withing subfolders inside a folder like this images/cat1/prod1/dsc

So those are not shown there.

Also the frontend submission is limited to special user group and is not available to public so privacy is not majorly an issue.
