Do all versions of JBZOO require ioncube as we have been running with version 2.1.2 Pro without problems. The site was originally running php5.3 (which our host runs ioncube on) but we upgraded to 5.5 which doesn't have ioncube and the component still seemed to work.

 

I need to know this so I can work out the best update method. Is there an update from our version 2.1.2 which, for example, doesn't require ioncube. Is it OK to run with an older version of JBZOO or is that vulnerable etc.

 

I do need to get this sorted urgently as sites are currently offline.

Yes, All JBZoo versions 2x.x require ioncube module.
We tested it with PHP 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6 and no problem found.

I recommend you to use PHP 5.5 (5.6) + JBZoo 2.1.5 (or 2.2.x).
