We currently run two sites with JBZOO 2.1.4. Because the sites have been affected with Malware I need to do fresh installs of Joomla and components.
In order to maintain the integrity of the existing data in the DB I'm guessing I will have to install the patch 2.x.x to 2.1.5. And then should I want to update further (depends on ioncube demands of 2.1.5) then I can use patches to do that. And all of this will maintain the existing data.
The problem is I need to do a fresh install of Joomla to ensure that I remove any backdoors that may be present. Obviously when I do a fresh install I will need to install the 2.1.5 package whic is available as build 1 from the download archive. Then I can point the fresh Joomla install at the original site DB and all will be well.
But this will only be the case if the 2.1.5 (build 1) is the same as the 2.1.4 patched to 2.1.5 ?
Alternatively it may be the case that all data is stored in the ZOO app and will not be affected by upgrades to JBZOO?
Or I can export all items (in the product template) and just upload them again to a completely fresh install. (not ideal as I will have to manually configure the elements again).
Some guidance appreciatd.
Thanks.
