I am using the Products type Catalog template to display a jobs listing.

 

The category menu view and jbzoo search module results pages can be styled to look very similar.

 

This is fine.

 

The frontpage of the site pulls content and images fom featured articles and formats them in a certain style - it's the solar template from yootheme.

 

We want one of the featured articles to point to a jobs listing.

 

I thought it would be simple enough to display a ZOO Item list in a module position.

 

And it is - but the styling is completely different. I really need it to look like the teaser view of the ZOO Category Menu item.

 

Or to display the JBZOO search module results (for ALL jobs) in EITHER  a module or an article.

 

The key thing is that the styling has to match that of the Category Menu Item or JBZOO search module results.

 

The third alternative is to setup a blank article and redirect it to the category menu link I already have in the main menu. (not sure if this is possible)

If I understand you correctly, the easiest way would be to modify the layout and styling of Zoo Item module. Look in the modules/mod_zooitem/tmpl and in the modules/mod_zooitem/renderer/item. You can change or add a new layout for this module there. As well as add new positions. So it shouldn't be hard to make it look like a product teaser.

Thanks Kess, I may look at that when I have more time, for now I inserted a url redirect in the htaccess file that directs a dummy page to the native menu category menu view. This allows me to associate the picture (pulled into the front page grid by Solar template) to the article but not worry about having to create matching styles.
