Unfortunately, you can use elements only inside the Zoo item.

The only way you can do something like you've described is to make appropriate HTML markup and paste the sidebar INSIDE the markup of the item.

hi

The sidebar may be only present on the item pages. Can i create a div in the template and then change its css position parameters to be that of the sidebar?

thanks

Of course you can try something like this or try to cut element from one place and paste it in the sidebar through the jQuery.
