Hi Denis, using a tab script is not a good solution for us as it is quite difficult to construct based on our middle knowledge in coding, that's why we always we purchase commercial extensions (where applicable) to get good assistance and support from developers and also not to loose unnecessary time. We cannot spend hours/days to apply complicated solutions when there are simple solutions, we cannot use such complicated solutions that will take us 10 times more resources simply because there is a bug in JB Zoo and the following explanation will demonstrate you that we are right and you need to solve this out because we cannot afford to loose much more time with this.

 

Just to give you a proof that there is a problem with JB Zoo and ItemPanes, we have created a fresh Joomla installation and we have added only ZOO as extension, we have create a small multilingual website including ZOO, Zoolingual, ItemPanes and JB Zoo, as I mention you previously, there is not additional extensions that can caused any javascript conflict on this fresh Joomla website and it should work perfectly, but it is not!

 

Step 1 (See screenshot installed_extensions.png)

 

We have created a fresh Joomla installation including only ZOO, Zoolingual, ItemPanes and JB Zoo as mention above, you will see in the screenshot that there is only ZOO as installed extensions, apart from default Joomla 3.0 extensions.

 

Step 2 (See screenshot installed_elements.png)

 

As you will see in this screenshot, we have installed only the main concern element as a third party element, that is, the ItemPanes element and we have also created a new type called 'Articles' and we have assigned the 'ItemPanes' element to this type.

 

Step 3 (See screenshot assigned_element_full_view.png)

 

We have created an element called 'Tabs' with the ItemPanes element and we have assigned it to the full view position in the Articles type, note that, based on ItemPanes functionality, event before assigning this type to the full view, we should have already seen new generated position created by the ItemPanes element in the full view, so that we can place elements in the created position, but, such additional position does not exists.

 

Step 4 (See screenshot panned_position_itempanes.png)

 

As you'll see in this screenshot, we have assigned the same element 'Tabs' to one of 'JB Zoo' demo type (In Russian), and the 'Panned Positions' generated with ItemPanes are there so that we can place elements in these positions.

 

Conclusion

 

1. There cannot be any javascript conflict on a website with a single extension, in our case, only with ZOO, there are thousands and even millions of website running with ZOO in Joomla 3.0 and till now, no conflict has been reported, even with some additional third party element such as ItemPanes, there cannot be any javascript conflict, there, please remove the javascript conflict as a cause for JB Zoo not working properly with ItemPanes and vice-versa.

 

2. If there was any javascript conflict, as you mention, which is not the case, the ItemPanes won't work with any type created within JB Zoo, how can you explain that the ItemPanes work in a specific type and does not work in another type?

 

3. We have spent time uninstalling and re-installing third party components, modules and plugins with our existing website to find out a possible conflict, but even after removing all third party components, modules and plugins, JB Zoo was still not working properly with ItemPanes.

 

4. We have spent time installing a fresh Joomla 3.0 website so that we could see where was our mistake and what was causing the possible conflict, still, no sign of any conflict!

 

5. We are again spending time to write a clear and detailed comment so that you can understand clearly where is the problem and understand the fact that this error is not a javascript conflict but simply an error within JB Zoo.

 

6. We were suppose to launch our website by Monday 15.07.2013 but due to this major error with JB Zoo, we were forced to postpone the launching for one additional week, which again make us loose time, money and resources.

 

We are not blaming JB Zoo as we definitely understand that there can be error in extension as no extension is perfect for all environments, but at least provide us the necessary support to find out the real problem and please correct it so that we can finally finish our website and also start generating some income from our own business so that we can be proud to renew our subscription to JB Zoo when the renewal time will come.

Apparently the problem is hidden very deep and now I dont have a solution.

I'll try to fix it when I'm working on compatibility with ZooLingual (~ v 2.1)

Look, I don't like to be rude, as I know and understand that development is something very deep and complicated, but, I have been providing you detailed messages over detailed messages, creating screenshots, installing a fresh Joomla website and done main configuration for you to see Zoo and JB Zoo in action alone, all these cost time and money, I have paid for the commercial version mainly to be able to respect our deadlines and to benefit from some additional features included in JB Zoo.

 

As I mention you previously, we were suppose to launch our website on Monday 15.07.13, but we won't be able to do so, we have postpone it for Monday 22.07.13 and now you are telling me to wait for version 2.1 which does not even has a fix release date and might be by end of August! Are you kidding me or what? I also have a business to manage here, I have responsibilities and engagements that I cannot just put in my calendar, sit and wait, I have my own staffs to pay, I have freelance developers to pay, I have engagement from local authorities for promotional stuffs, I have my own personal stuffs and responsibilities for my family as well, I have been patient enough I guess and you cannot ask me to wait one additional month to launch my website.

 

Prior to purchase the JB Zoo subscription, I even send you pre-sales questions (see http://forum.jbzoo.c...ons/#entry20187) and mostly all were answered positively, now that I have planned everything, you just want me to think about your own deadlines and responsibilities, I understand that asking for new features take time in development but not for bug reports! I have been using Joomla for years and I can say that your support is not professional at all.

 

We cannot and it is not question for us to wait for version 2.1 to have this 'BUG' solved, we have been fare enough to accept to wait for the Zoolingual issue, to find a temporally solution for the multilanguage issue, but this one is not acceptable, you need to find a solution for this issue as soon as possible as I mention above, we also have our own responsibilities and deadlines.

Hi, As I mention above, it is useless for us to have JB Zoo and not been able to use it as we would like and create our directories based on our requirements and needs. Therefore, if you cannot find an appropriate solution to make it work with ItemPanes, this is one of our main requirements since our website is mobile friendly and professionally designed, we do not want long pages where our users need to scroll that much.

 

Therefore, we prefer not to use JB Zoo on our website and instead get a refund (even excluding charges that you have been charged by payment processor) so that, at least, we can invest this refund on some other important aspect of our website.

 

We purchased a subscription for JB Zoo for some important reasons:

 

1. Compatible with Zoolingual as our website is multilingual.

2. Compatible with ItemPanes for better layout and user-friendly information.

3. Additional elements such as Image Gallery, Automatic Related Items etc.

4. Additional theme view such as real estate for our resort directory.

 

Now that we have purchased the subscription and installed it on our website, it is a fact that:

 

1. JB Zoo is not totally compatible with Zoolingual, you mention that compatibility with Zoolingual will be completed/updated in JB Zoo v2.1 which is expected to be release in 1 to 2 months, on our side, we cannot wait that much to launch our website.

2. JB Zoo is not compatible at all with ItemPanes, temporally to permanent errors to display tabs both frontend and backend, no additional positions generated to place elements etc. This issue also is supposed to be solved in JB Zoo v2.1, that will be available in 1 to 2 months.

3. We rather use default Zoo elements in combination with some third party elements rather than to use JB Zoo because of the above mention issues and errors, default Zoo offers us much more features and capabilities.

 

Additionally, Zoo, with the help of Zoolingual and Joomla default multilingual feature is easy to create multilingual website whereas current version of JB Zoo is available only in English and Russian, all demo types and fields are mostly in Russian, we do not speak Russian, we do not want to use Google translate to have poorly translated text on our website, these language issues are supposed to be updated in JB Zoo version 2.0, a version that does not even have a possible release date.

 

I am sure you will understand that based on all these, we cannot planned our business based on supposition and poorly estimated timing, therefore, since JB Zoo is useless for us, we request to have a refund and cancel our subscription.

 

Our sincere apologies for all inconveniences but we have really tried our best to be patient and comprehensive on several issues but we cannot do more than this.

Because in any case you have a copy of the application.
 
For example, we have a free version http://jbzoo.com/download.php
You could see it previously, before you buy the subscription.

We have only recently started selling the JBZoo App for Europe and the U.S.,
so do not have time to do a full English version.

All extensions that you use are large and very complex.
It is very difficult to make compatible under all at once.

I can only advise you to wait for updates and bug fixes (ver 2.1.0 ~1-2 mounth) 
As I said above, the problem is very deep in code and now I dont have a solution. Sorry...

You can keep the money, I won't fight for it, but I will definitely not use your app on our website as in terms of timing, we'll not be sitting and waiting for you to release updates in 1 to 2 months, but rest assume that I will add a very interesting review on JED for this app, I will not deny that you are replying to my inquiry with a good timing but what is the importance to reply to an inquiry but cannot provide a solution for the error.

 

You say I have a copy of the commercial app! Do you honestly think that I will use it with such bugs and issues? NO, I won't, I have been loosing time and money but I am sure that somehow, I will get it back some day. Thank you very much for making me loose money and time and wish you all the luck with the development and update of incoming version and I also wish better luck to other users and developers with JB Zoo.

golfads Use the built in tabs that come with jbzoo it is easy! look here! I created a few cusom positions to accomodate new tabs and you are good to go!

how did you create the custom positions?

 

I have looked thorugh the demo and can see the tabs are present in product item of catalog - but I can't woerk out how the tabs were created?

OK, so the tabs are part of the 'Full' template layout for 'Product' Type.

 

They seem fixed - how is it possible to alter the tab names?

 

eg. I want to change Gallery to something else

 

Do the tabs have set css classes as the properties tab has a table in it?

 

Ideally I'd like to be able to put the elements I wanted in a tab?

 

The alternative would be coding new positions into the template - is there a how to for this?

 

And if I do this is there a way of preventing changes being lost on update?
